Since 1993, Bayside Limousines has been helping couples make spectacular entrances and exits on their way to and from the altar.
Pay them a visit in person. In a perfect world, what you see in an advertisement is what you get upon delivery. However, as most of us know, this isn’t always the case, and when you’re hiring transportation for your wedding, you’re going to want to take a look at the cars before you book them to make sure that they are well-maintained, clean, and exactly what you’re looking for. This is also a valuable opportunity to meet the people you’re dealing with and gauge whether they are helpful, knowledgeable, and reliable. Ask them questions about the cars, such as the year make and model and whether the color you want is guaranteed.
Chauffeurs matter. While it may not occur to you immediately, there are some details you are going to want to know about who’s going to be driving you around. For instance, how will they be dressed; will they wear a suit, tux or uniform? How will you be able to communicate with them, should the need arise? And, of course, not least of all, how have they been qualified and trained for their position? All of our own drivers go through an intense training program and are put through several background checks. They are properly licensed by the DOT, MVA and the Maryland PSC. They are also hired primarily for their personality and held to strict standards of courtesy and punctuality. Any transportation service should be able to provide you with similar assurances regarding the qualifications of their chauffeurs.
Be sure you understand what the package includes. As with any purchase, it’s important to know exactly what you’re getting when you hire wedding transportation, as not all transportation companies package their services in the same way. Ask whether there are any additional charges not indicated in the package price, such as mileage, beverages, taxes, or the gratuity for the chauffeur. In addition, there can be variation in how different companies calculate their charges: some charge per hour, others charge per day, etc, so make sure you know how these rates are calculated. Some charge a different rate for overtime, so be sure you ask about that, too!
Read your contract carefully. While planning your wedding, you’ve probably become very accustomed to poring over service contracts, and this should be no different. Don’t sign the contract until you’ve read over all of the fine print! Make sure your contract clearly indicates all pick up and delivery times, so there’s no room for ambiguity in case everything doesn’t go as planned. It should be very clear exactly when your time starts and when overtime charges begin. This is to protect both you and the company. Finally, look for information regarding any cancellation policies or penalties, just in case. It’s always best to be on the safe side!
